Blue Dog Hospitality Group: Yesterday’s Creekside Tavern & Deauville Inn

Project Summary

When the summer crowds roll into the Jersey Shore, local restaurants need more than just great food and service—they need comfort. That’s why Blue Dog Hospitality Group partnered with Broadley’s Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning to modernize the HVAC systems at two of their busiest locations: Yesterday’s Creekside Tavern in Marmora and the Deauville Inn in Strathmere.

Thanks to Atlantic City Electric’s (ACE) Direct Install program—designed to help businesses reduce energy use and increase savings—Blue Dog Hospitality saved over $190,000 in project costs, making these essential upgrades both affordable and impactful.

Challenge

The challenge was completing the installations without disrupting daily operations during the peak summer season at two bustling coastal restaurants. Blue Dog Hospitality trusted Broadley’s to get the job done right—maximizing program incentives while minimizing disruption throughout the installation process.

Our Solution was to install new efficient HVAC systems that could provide comfort during the hot and humid coastal demands of July and August and, of course, to remain in close coordination with all stakeholders throughout the installation.  For each we proposed the following:

Yesterday’s Creekside Tavern – Marmora, NJ, a local favorite known for its sports bar, lively atmosphere, and packed summer nights …

Broadley’s Solution:

  • (3) Rooftop Package A/C Units
  • A Tankless Water Heater
  • Dual Enthalpy Economizers with Demand-Control Ventilation

These energy-efficient systems keep the restaurant cool, dry, and comfortable, even on the hottest days. Through Direct Install, Broadley’s was able to secure significant cash incentives for the customer.

Project Snapshot:

  • Total Project Cost: $124,195
  • Customer Cost: $24,839
  • Program Incentive Paid: $99,356
  • Incentive Coverage: 80%

Thanks to the program, Blue Dog Hospitality paid just 20% of the total cost—while enjoying a modern, efficient system that supports a better customer experience.

Deauville Inn – Strathmere, NJ, an iconic waterfront destination that blends historic charm with upscale dining …

Broadley’s Solution:

  • (4) Rooftop Units
  • (2) 5-Ton Split Condensers
  • Dual Enthalpy Economizers with Demand-Control Ventilation

To avoid disruptions, Broadley’s scheduled installations to begin at 6 a.m., ensuring systems were up and running before doors opened at 11.

Project Snapshot:

  • Total Project Cost: $139,806
  • Customer Cost: $47,181
  • Program Incentive Paid: $92,625
  • Incentive Coverage: 66%

With nearly two-thirds of the cost covered by program incentives, the Deauville now enjoys reliable cooling, lower energy consumption, and enhanced guest comfort—all without the burden of overwhelming upfront expenses.

Conclusion

For seasonal restaurants at the Shore, reliable cooling isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. By working with Broadley’s Direct Install team, Blue Dog Hospitality was able to:

  • Lower long-term energy costs
  • Improve comfort for both customers and staff
  • Modernize aging infrastructure without disrupting operations
  • Receive over $190,000 in project incentives
