Tankless Water Heaters in South Jersey
Tankless water heaters give you endless hot water while keeping your energy bills down. You can increase the efficiency of your home, get rid of that bulky tank, and never worry about running out of hot water again.
When Jersey Shore houses get crowded, hot water runs out easily. When everyone is trying to shower at the same time, or there’s a bathtub using a lot of water, it can leave the rest of the house waiting for the hot water tank to fill up again.
Endless Hot Water, Whenever You Need It
Navien tankless water heaters provide hot water as needed instead of storing it in a tank, like traditional water heaters. This on-demand heating system comes with several benefits:
- Never run out of hot water as a traditional tank does
- Increase your energy efficiency
- Free up space with a much smaller, more compact system (About 80% smaller than a conventional tank).
- Longer lifespan than traditional tank systems
Tankless for South Jersey Shore Homes
Running out of hot water is a common complaint for any home with more than two or three people. When everyone wants a shower in the morning, being the last one usually means cold water. Being the first in the shower means having to be quick to reserve as much as possible.
Jersey Shore homes especially feel this pain. When everyone comes home from the beach, everyone wants a shower. If there’s a bathtub available, forget about everyone else getting a hot shower.
Rentals are also a great candidate for tankless. A tankless system lowers energy bills for these rental properties and provides the renter with a better experience. You won’t pay to keep dozens of gallons of water heated in a unit that isn’t being used for months at a time. And, renters won’t complain about ever running out of hot water.

How Does a Tankless Water Heater Work?
A tankless water heater uses sensors that detect when hot water is needed. Then, it heats the water as it passes through the system and sends the water wherever it’s needed in your home. This on-demand approach is what makes endless hot water possible.
A traditional system fills a tank with water and heats it up. You’ll have hot water for your home until it runs out. Then, you’d have to wait a while for the hot water to fill back up. Instead, a tankless system heats the water quicker. And, it doesn’t have to store 40+ gallons of water all the time.
Why Is Tankless More Energy Efficient?
A tankless hot water heater doesn’t keep gallons of water hot in a tank while it’s not being used. Instead, it heats the water when it’s needed. A traditional system that keeps the water hot all the time uses a lot of energy to maintain the temperature.
Instead, a tankless system only uses energy when it’s needed. This lower energy use makes the tankless system more energy-efficient. That’s why Navien systems are ENERGY STAR® certified.
As a result, they offer a much lower energy cost. They also have a longer lifespan than storage water heaters! Tankless units can last up to 20 years with proper maintenance.
Condensing Vs. Non-Condensing
Navien offers condensing and non-condensing systems. Both systems provide endless hot water, but the condensing system runs more efficiently and is slightly more convenient.
A condensing system is easier to vent and more energy efficient. A non-condensing system usually runs around 80% efficiency, while the condensing system runs at 90 percent or more.
How Condensing Works
- The tankless water heater detects when you open a hot water tap
- The flow sensor determines how much hot water you need
- The igniter activates
- The gas control valve opens to supply the correct amount of gas
- The fan and venturi activate to provide the correct amount of gas and fuel
- The premix burner ignites, providing a flame to heat the water
- Cold water is preheated in the secondary heat exchanger
- Preheated water passes from the secondary to the primary heat exchanger
- The unit determines the outgoing set temperature and adjusts the flame to heat the water
- Heated water moves to the buffer tank
- The desired flow rate of hot water gets to the faucet immediately
How Non-Condensing Works
- The tankless water heater detects when you open a hot water tap
- The flow sensor determines how much hot water you need
- The igniter activates
- The gas control valve opens to supply the correct amount of gas
- The burner ignites, providing a flame to heat the water
- Cold water passes through the heat exchanger
- The unit determines the outgoing set temperature and adjusts the flame to heat the water
- The desired flow rate of hot water gets to the faucet immediately
